The third annual March of the Mermaids Parade took place last weekend in Brighton, UK, reminding us all just how much people love to get dressed up to celebrate marine life! As mermaids, mermen and a plethora of other weird creatures emerged from the streets of Brighton to march to the sound of samba, we were treated to the most fantastic fishy celebration the city has ever seen! The event, organised by March of the Mermaids in partnership with WhaleFest, raises funds for the World Cetacean Alliance. Inspired by the famous Coney Island Mermaid Parade in New York, the parade is growing rapidly each year and was watched by several thousand people.
